WHAT TO PACK

Packing smart is essential for a multi-country trip across varying climates and cultures. Here’s what we recommend for your March adventure through Japan, China, and India:

• Lightweight, breathable tops for warmer days in India
• Long-sleeve shirts or layers for cooler mornings and evenings in Japan and China
• A medium-weight jacket or packable puffer (early spring in Tokyo and Beijing can be crisp)
• Comfortable jeans or trousers
• At least one modest outfit for temple visits (shoulders and knees covered)
• A lightweight scarf or shawl for sun, dust, or cultural coverage
• One semi-formal outfit (for group dinners or photo days)
   

Footwear

• Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers (you’ll be exploring cities and heritage sites)
• Slip-on shoes (useful in Japan for places that require shoe removal)
• Sandals or breathable flats for India
   

Travel Essentials

• Daypack or small backpack
• Crossbody bag with zipper closure for secure city touring
• Reusable water bottle

PAYMENTS & FEES (HOSTED GROUP TRIPS)

All trip prices are made up of two parts: the non-refundable deposit and the remaining balance. Your booking is confirmed only after the deposit is paid.

Trip pricing is based on customized group arrangements. If cost changes occur before the 45th day prior to departure (e.g. airfare increases, accommodation rate changes, taxes or fuel surcharges), Happistart reserves the right to adjust the price by up to 20%. Any changes will be communicated in writing.

The final balance is due no later than 30 days before departure. Late payments will incur a US $350 late fee for every 10-day delay.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Clients may cancel their participation at any time by notifying Happistart in writing. The following cancellation fees apply:

If you cancel your booking, the following fees apply:

• 60–40 days before departure: 50% of the total trip cost
   
• 40–20 days before departure: 75% of the total trip cost
   
• 20–0 days before departure: 100% of the total trip cost
   

Cancellation fees will be waived only in the following cases:

1. If Happistart changes the agreed contract price by more than 20%
    
2. In the event of serious illness (doctor’s note required) or the death of a close family member
    
3. In case of force majeure
    

All refunds are also subject to the individual cancellation policies of our airline, hotel, and ground service partners.

PAYMENT METHODS & SURCHARGES

• Multiple payment options are available.
   
• Alternative payment methods (outside of standard channels) will incur a US $45 fee per transaction.
   
• All trips require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
   
• Prices are subject to change until group reservations are confirmed.
   

Late payments not only incur penalties but may result in spot forfeiture. If payment is more than 10 days overdue without prior agreement from Happistart, your space may be cancelled. In such cases, 50% of paid fees may be refunded, and only if claimed within 30 days of cancellation. Refunds are still subject to all supplier policies.
